I tested the best data 56k kflex faxmodem internal w/ the ascend test site.. under tcpip downloading via ftp pro I got @ 44kbps a 1.457meg file (ie 1 floppy) in 5:15 and at 46kbps it dropped only to 5:05 -a lot of fallbacks in speed caused only a 10 second gain in time. don't know why maybe line problems @ this connect speed. If it matters I'm using win/95 w/ a 200mhz mmx pentium (compaq presario 8772) no hardware conflicts dte was 115200 web site was sluggish @ first but a significant improvement over 28.8 performance overall.. could be the test site.

I downloaded 115200 byte .tar file from my FTP Site
The transfer results were 54.36 Kbps in 20.8
